Documents Required During IBPS PO Online Application 2026

For CRP PO/MT-XVI, candidates were required to upload more than just the photograph and signature. The 2026 application process included the applicant’s photograph, signature, left thumb impression, handwritten declaration, SSC/SSLC/10th standard or equivalent certificate and an additional prescribed certificate for eligible candidates. 6. SSC / SSLC / 10th Standard or Equivalent Certificate

A major document requirement for the 2026 cycle was the scanned SSC/SSLC/10th Standard or Equivalent Certificate. This document should not be omitted from an IBPS PO 2026 document checklist.

  • The document should be uploaded in PDF format.
  • The page size should be A4.
  • The file should be clearly readable.
  • The PDF file size should not exceed 500 KB.

For persons with specified disability covered under Section 2(s) of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016, but having less than 40% disability and difficulty in writing, the prescribed certificate must establish that the person has a limitation in writing and that a scribe is essential, where applicable.

  • Avoid blurred, distorted or smudged scans.
  • Preview every uploaded file before final submission.
  • Keep a backup copy of every file used in the application.

Important Upload RuleAn unclear photograph, signature, thumb impression, handwritten declaration or prescribed certificate can create problems with the application. Candidates should verify every uploaded image or PDF before completing registration.

Documents Required at IBPS PO Exam Centre 2026

The IBPS PO documents required at the exam centre are different from the documents uploaded during registration. Candidates must follow the instructions printed on their respective call letter and information handout.

For Preliminary Examination

  • Printed IBPS PO Preliminary Examination Call Letter
  • Recent photograph affixed on the call letter as instructed
  • One additional photograph as required in the call letter
  • Currently valid original photo identity proof
  • Photocopy of the same photo identity proof
  • Scribe-related documents, if applicable

Do Not Discard the Prelims Call LetterThe Preliminary Examination call letter and attached ID photocopy are authenticated/stamped at the examination centre and returned to the candidate. Candidates shortlisted for the Main Examination must preserve these documents and produce them again as instructed.

For Main Examination

  • Printed Main Examination Call Letter
  • Authenticated/Stamped Preliminary Examination Call Letter
  • Authenticated/Stamped photocopy of the identity proof used during Prelims
  • Valid original photo identity proof as required
  • Other documents specified in the Main Examination call letter and information handout

ExamTune ReminderDo not throw away the Prelims call letter after the examination. It becomes an important document for candidates shortlisted for the IBPS PO Main Examination.

Valid Identity Proof for IBPS PO 2026

A currently valid photo identity proof is required for identity verification. The name appearing on the call letter should match the name appearing on the photo identity proof.

Photo Identity Proof Status
PAN Card Accepted
Passport Accepted
Permanent Driving Licence Accepted
Voter’s Card with Photograph Accepted
Aadhaar Card / E-Aadhaar with Photograph Accepted
Bank Passbook with Photograph Accepted
Employee ID Accepted
Bar Council Identity Card with Photograph Accepted
Valid Recent College/University Identity Card Accepted
Photo ID issued by Gazetted Officer / People’s Representative on Official Letterhead Accepted subject to prescribed conditions
Ration Card Not Accepted
Learner’s Driving Licence Not Accepted

ImportantAlways follow the identity-proof instructions printed on the call letter for the relevant stage. Carry the original valid photo ID and the required photocopy. A mismatch in the candidate’s name can prevent admission unless supported by the prescribed legal name-change documents.

Name Mismatch in IBPS PO Documents

The candidate’s name entered in the application and printed on the call letter should match the photo identity proof. Candidates who have legally changed their name should keep the appropriate original supporting document ready.

Depending on the case, the required supporting proof may include:

  • Original Gazette Notification
  • Original Marriage Certificate
  • Valid Affidavit
  • Other legally acceptable supporting document as specified by IBPS

Important AdviceDo not assume that a spelling mismatch will automatically be ignored. Resolve document discrepancies before the next recruitment stage wherever possible.

IBPS PO Interview Documents Required 2026

Candidates shortlisted for the Interview have to satisfy the prescribed eligibility and identity requirements. IBPS may provide a link for shortlisted candidates to upload scanned/soft copies of the requisite eligibility documents in PDF format. The required online document upload must be completed when instructed.

At the Interview, candidates must also produce the prescribed original documents and self-attested photocopies. Non-production of required eligibility documents can make the candidate ineligible for further participation in CRP PO/MT-XVI.

Mandatory Interview / Document Verification Documents

  • Printout of the valid Interview Call Letter
  • Valid system-generated printout of the online application form registered for CRP PO/MT-XVI
  • Proof of Date of Birth – Birth Certificate issued by the competent authority or SSLC/Std. X Certificate showing DOB
  • Prescribed valid Photo Identity Proof
  • Graduation mark sheets and/or certificates establishing the required educational qualification
  • Proper proof from the Board/University that the qualifying result was declared on or before 21 July 2026
  • Category certificate, where reservation is claimed
  • PwBD / scribe-related certificate, wherever applicable
  • Ex-Servicemen documents, wherever applicable
  • No Objection Certificate for eligible currently employed candidates, wherever required
  • Experience certificates, if applicable
  • Certificate of eligibility for candidates covered by the relevant nationality/citizenship provisions, if applicable
  • Any other relevant document supporting the eligibility claimed in the application

Educational Qualification Cut-offFor CRP PO/MT-XVI, the candidate must possess the required Graduation qualification and the result must have been declared on or before 21 July 2026. The subsequent extension of the application deadline does not change the educational qualification cut-off stated in the recruitment rules.

Educational Documents Required for IBPS PO Interview

IBPS verifies whether the candidate possessed the prescribed educational qualification by the relevant cut-off date. Candidates should therefore carry documents sufficient to establish their qualification and result date.

  • Graduation Mark Sheets for all semesters/years, as applicable
  • Graduation Degree Certificate or acceptable Provisional Certificate
  • Document establishing declaration of the Graduation result on or before the prescribed cut-off date
  • CGPA/OGPA conversion proof or University conversion formula, wherever applicable
  • Other educational qualification certificates if relied upon for eligibility
  • Class 10/SSLC Certificate where used as Date of Birth proof

Accuracy NoteClass 12 and Post-Graduation certificates are not universal substitutes for the mandatory Graduation eligibility proof. Carry them if relevant to your application or if specifically requested, but the core educational requirement for IBPS PO is Graduation or an equivalent recognised qualification.

Category Certificates Required for IBPS PO 2026

Candidates claiming reservation must produce valid certificates in the prescribed format issued by the competent authority. The certificate should support the category claimed in the submitted application.

Category Required Document
SC Valid Scheduled Caste Certificate in prescribed format
ST Valid Scheduled Tribe Certificate in prescribed format
OBC OBC Non-Creamy Layer Certificate satisfying the prescribed Central Government requirements
EWS Valid Income & Asset Certificate in prescribed format
PwBD Prescribed Disability Certificate issued by the competent authority

OBC Non-Creamy Layer Certificate

OBC candidates claiming reservation should ensure that they belong to the eligible Non-Creamy Layer category and satisfy the Central Government reservation requirements. For CRP PO/MT-XVI, the OBC Non-Creamy Layer certificate should be issued on or after 1 April 2026 and up to the date of Interview, and it should contain the required Non-Creamy Layer clause.

Important for OBC CandidatesA State-only OBC claim that does not satisfy the Central Government reservation requirements should not be assumed to be sufficient for IBPS PO reservation. Verify the prescribed certificate format and eligibility carefully.

EWS Income & Asset Certificate

Candidates claiming EWS reservation should possess the prescribed Income & Asset Certificate valid for the relevant recruitment year. For this cycle, the applicable certificate is for 2026–27 based on financial year 2025–26.

PwBD Certificate

PwBD candidates must produce the disability certificate in the prescribed format issued by the competent authority. Candidates using scribe-related provisions must additionally comply with the applicable certificate, undertaking and exam-day requirements.

Scribe-Related Documents for IBPS PO 2026

Candidates eligible to use a scribe should carefully follow the current IBPS scribe instructions. Where a candidate has opted for a scribe, the prescribed online scribe form and supporting documents must be completed as instructed.

  • Prescribed disability / medical certificate, where applicable
  • Online scribe declaration/form as required
  • Supporting scribe details and documents required by IBPS
  • Scribe’s SSC/SSLC/10th Standard or equivalent certificate where required by the current scribe process
  • Original supporting document at the examination venue when specifically required for verification

PwBD / PwSD CandidatesCandidates availing disability-related examination provisions should also carry their UDID card/disability certificate where required by the call letter or current IBPS instructions.

Ex-Servicemen Documents Required for IBPS PO

An Ex-Serviceman candidate covered by the applicable IBPS PO rules should keep the prescribed service documents ready for Interview/document verification.

  • Copy of Service Book or Discharge Book, as applicable
  • Pension Payment Order
  • Documentary proof of rank last held or presently held, including substantive/acting rank as applicable
  • Required certificate from the competent authority for candidates who are still in defence service

For Candidates Still in Defence ServiceUnder CRP PO/MT-XVI, candidates covered by this requirement who are still in defence service must produce the prescribed certificate from the competent authority confirming that they will be relieved from defence services by the date specified in the official notification.

No Objection Certificate (NOC) for Employed Candidates

Candidates serving in Government, Quasi-Government, Public Sector Undertakings, Nationalised Banks, Financial Institutions or other organisations covered by the relevant IBPS requirement should obtain the prescribed No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their employer for the Interview stage, where applicable.

ExamTune Expert SuggestionIf an NOC applies to you, do not wait until the Interview call letter is issued. Employer approvals can take time, so initiate the process sufficiently early.

Experience Certificates – If Applicable

Previous work experience is not a general mandatory eligibility condition for IBPS PO. However, candidates who have entered or relied upon experience-related information should keep valid supporting records ready.

Where applicable, relevant records may include:

  • Experience Certificate
  • Service Certificate
  • Appointment / Relieving Document
  • Other proof supporting the employment or experience claimed

Only documents actually relevant to the candidate’s eligibility or information provided in the application should be treated as required.

Additional Documents to Keep Ready

The following documents can be useful to retain for later stages, although candidates should distinguish between official mandatory documents and backup records:

  • System-generated Online Application Form
  • E-receipt / Fee Payment Record
  • Registration Number and login details stored securely
  • Approximately 8 copies of the same photograph used during application
  • Authenticated examination call letters that IBPS instructs candidates to retain
  • Copies of valid identity proof
  • Digital backup of eligibility certificates

Important DistinctionA payment receipt, extra photocopies or additional educational documents may be useful as backup, but candidates should not present them as universal mandatory Interview documents unless IBPS or the relevant call letter specifically asks for them.

Final Joining Documents for IBPS PO

After provisional allotment, the formalities for verification and joining are handled by the allotted participating bank. Therefore, candidates should follow the joining letter issued by that bank rather than assuming that every bank requires exactly the same set of joining documents.

The allotted bank may require additional items such as:

  • Original educational and eligibility certificates
  • Identity and address verification documents
  • Prescribed bank joining forms
  • Medical examination / fitness-related documents, if required by the allotted bank
  • Character / background / police verification documents, if required by the allotted bank
  • Declarations, undertakings or service-related forms
  • Other documents mentioned in the bank’s offer or joining instructions

ImportantMedical fitness certificates, police verification documents or bank-specific undertakings should not be described as universal IBPS Interview requirements. These can vary according to the participating bank’s appointment and joining formalities.

Common Reasons for IBPS PO Document Problems

  • Blurred or smudged photograph, signature, thumb impression or declaration
  • Incorrect image format or file size
  • Signature written in capital letters
  • Handwritten declaration not prepared according to IBPS instructions
  • Failure to upload the SSC/SSLC/10th certificate during the application stage
  • Missing prescribed disability/scribe certificate, where applicable
  • Name mismatch between application, call letter and identity proof
  • Invalid or improperly formatted category certificate
  • OBC certificate not satisfying the prescribed NCL/date requirements
  • Incorrect EWS certificate year
  • Failure to establish that Graduation result was declared by the prescribed cut-off date
  • Failure to produce original eligibility certificates at Interview/document verification
  • Failure to retain authenticated Prelims documents required for the Main Examination

ExamTune Expert AdviceDo not rely only on photographs or photocopies of certificates stored on a phone. For stages where originals are prescribed, carry the originals along with the required self-attested photocopies.

ExamTune Expert AnalysisThe safest approach is to maintain two separate sets: one physical document file containing originals and required self-attested copies, and one secure digital backup containing clearly scanned PDFs/JPEGs. Do not discard authenticated call letters or verification papers until the entire CRP PO/MT-XVI recruitment and joining process is complete.

Important Instructions Before Interview & Document Verification

  • Upload the required soft copies through the IBPS link when instructed.
  • Carry all prescribed original documents.
  • Carry self-attested photocopies of the relevant documents.
  • Arrange the documents in the order stated in the Interview call letter.
  • Verify the validity and format of category certificates in advance.
  • Check the name, DOB and qualification details across all documents.
  • Do not send certificates directly to IBPS or the Nodal Bank unless specifically instructed.
  • Follow the latest Interview call letter and official IBPS instructions if they add or modify any requirement.

Final Preparation TipKeep the notification, call letters and eligibility documents together until the recruitment process is completely over. The document instructions issued for the relevant stage should always take priority over general preparation checklists.

Conclusion

The IBPS PO Documents Required 2026 checklist is broader than just a photograph and signature. For CRP PO/MT-XVI, candidates had to upload the photograph, signature, left thumb impression, handwritten declaration, SSC/SSLC/10th certificate and other prescribed documents, along with capturing a live photograph. Examination stages require valid call letters, photo identity proof and other stage-specific documents, while the Interview and document verification process requires original eligibility documents with self-attested photocopies.

Candidates should pay special attention to the IBPS PO document verification requirements for Graduation, OBC-NCL, EWS, PwBD, scribe, Ex-Servicemen and employer NOC documents wherever applicable. Always follow the latest call letter and official IBPS instructions because stage-specific requirements can be updated during the recruitment process.
