the original notification. Initially, 6,715 indicative vacancies
were announced. IBPS first revised the total to 7,365 on
20 July 2026 after Indian Bank reported 650 vacancies.

IBPS PO Educational Qualification 2026
A candidate must possess a graduation degree in any discipline
from a university recognised by the Government of India or an equivalent
qualification recognised by the Central Government.
The candidate must possess valid proof of passing graduation. The final result of the qualifying degree must have been declared on or before 21 July 2026. The extension of the application deadline to 26 July 2026 did not change this educational qualification cut-off date.
IBPS PO Nationality / Citizenship Criteria
A candidate must be an Indian citizen or satisfy one of the other nationality
conditions specified in the official notification, including eligible subjects
of Nepal or Bhutan, certain Tibetan refugees, and specified persons of Indian
origin who have migrated from notified countries, subject to production of a
Government of India eligibility certificate wherever required.

Negative marking applies to objective tests. For an incorrect answer,
one-fourth of the marks assigned to that question
is deducted as a penalty. No penalty is imposed for a question that
is left unanswered.

Candidates selected as Probationary Officers / Management Trainees are
appointed in Junior Management Grade Scale-I. The starting
IBPS PO Basic Pay is ₹48,480.
The notified pay scale is:

In addition to Basic Pay, selected officers are eligible for applicable
