IBPS PO Photograph and Signature Guidelines 2026 are important for candidates who registered for the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection Probationary Officer/Management Trainee recruitment. For CRP PO/MT-XVI, IBPS prescribed specific requirements for the scanned photograph and signature, including file size, preferred dimensions, image format and image quality. Candidates were also required to capture a separate live photograph during the online registration process.

The IBPS PO 2026 online registration was conducted from 1 July to 26 July 2026, while the application editing window was available from 29 July to 30 July 2026. IBPS PO Photograph and Signature Guidelines 2026: Overview

Candidates had to upload the photograph and signature in their respective upload sections. The images had to satisfy the prescribed technical requirements before the application could proceed. The photograph needed to be a recent passport-style colour picture, while the signature had to be made by the candidate on white paper using black ink.

IBPS PO Photograph Size and Dimensions

The prescribed IBPS PO photograph size for the scanned passport photograph was 20 KB to 50 KB. The preferred IBPS PO photo dimensions were 200 × 230 pixels, corresponding to a passport-style photograph of approximately 4.5 cm × 3.5 cm.

The photograph had to be a recent passport-style colour picture. Candidates were instructed to use a light-coloured, preferably white, background and look directly towards the camera with a relaxed face. The uploaded face needed to be clearly visible.

While preparing the scanned photograph, candidates should follow these requirements:

• The photograph must be recent and passport-style.
• The photograph must be in colour.
• A light-coloured, preferably white, background should be used.
• The candidate should look straight at the camera.
• The face and eyes must be clearly visible.
• Harsh shadows on the face should be avoided.
• If flash is used, the photograph should not show red-eye.
• If glasses are worn, there should be no reflection and the eyes must remain clearly visible.
• Caps, hats and dark glasses are not acceptable.

IBPS PO Live Photograph Guidelines

For CRP PO/MT-XVI, uploading a scanned passport photograph alone was not sufficient. Candidates were additionally required to capture and upload an IBPS PO live photograph during registration.

The live photograph could be captured in either of the following ways:

• Webcam: Selecting the capture-photo option activated the webcam so that the photograph could be clicked and automatically uploaded to the application.
• Mobile phone: Candidates could use the mobile option to scan the QR code displayed by the application system. The QR code redirected them to the photograph-capture page, where the image could be clicked and uploaded.

IBPS PO Live Photo Do’s and Don’ts

The live photograph had to be taken against a light-coloured, preferably white, background with adequate lighting. Candidates had to look directly towards the webcam or mobile camera, and the photograph needed to resemble a proper passport-size image.

Candidates were instructed not to capture a very small photograph and not to wear coloured glasses, sunglasses or a cap. A photograph with shadows on the face, a distorted or blurred face, a face covered by a mask, improper lighting or an unsuitable background should not be used.

IBPS PO Signature Size and Dimensions

The prescribed IBPS PO signature size was 10 KB to 20 KB, while the preferred IBPS PO signature dimensions were 140 × 60 pixels.

The applicant had to sign personally on white paper using a black ink pen. The signature had to be clear, properly cropped and clearly visible after upload.

If the signature made by the candidate at the examination does not match the signature uploaded with the application, the candidate can be disqualified. Candidates should therefore avoid changing their regular signature after submitting the form.

How to Scan Photograph and Signature Correctly

IBPS scanning instructions require candidates to maintain sufficient image quality while keeping the file within the prescribed size. The scanner resolution should be set to a minimum of 200 DPI and the colour setting should be set to True Colour.

Crop the image closely to the edges of the photograph or signature. The upload editor can then be used to make the final crop. Image files should be saved in .jpg or .jpeg format.

If a photograph exceeds 50 KB or a signature exceeds 20 KB, candidates should adjust the scanner settings, resolution or image size while ensuring that the final image remains clear. Excessive compression should be avoided because it can make the photograph or signature blurred.

Common IBPS PO Photograph and Signature Upload Mistakes

• Uploading the photograph in the signature field or vice versa.
• Uploading a photograph outside the prescribed file-size range.
• Uploading a signature larger than 20 KB.
• Using a blurred or unclear photograph.
• Uploading a signature that is smudged or difficult to read.
• Using coloured glasses, sunglasses or a cap in the photograph.
• Using a dark or distracting background.
• Uploading a typed name instead of the candidate’s normal signature.
• Writing the signature in capital/block letters.
• Confusing the scanned passport photograph with the separate live photograph requirement.

Important Instructions Before Uploading Images

Each file must be uploaded only in the designated space in the application form. If the file size or format does not meet the prescribed conditions, the portal may display an error. Candidates should always check the preview after uploading the photograph and signature.

If an image appears blurred, smudged, incorrectly cropped or unclear in the preview, it should be corrected before final submission. IBPS specifically required the candidate’s face in the photograph and the uploaded signature to be clearly visible.
