How is NICL Assistant Exam Centre Allotted?
Candidates selected a preferred online examination centre while filling the application form. However, choosing a city did not guarantee allotment of the same centre.
NICL has stated that it reserves the right to allot a candidate to a centre other than the one selected during registration if required due to capacity, candidate response or administrative reasons.
- Centre choice submitted during registration is final.
- The examination centre list is provisional.
- NICL may add or cancel an examination centre.
- A nearby or alternative centre may be allotted.
- The final allotted venue is printed on the candidate’s call letter.
- Candidates have to appear at the allotted centre at their own expense.
Can NICL Assistant Exam Centre 2026 Be Changed?
No. NICL has clearly stated that requests for changing the exam centre, venue, examination date or session will not be entertained.
Candidates must therefore appear at the examination venue mentioned on their individual call letter.

Name on NICL Assistant Admit Card and ID Proof
The candidate’s name on the original photo identity proof should exactly match the name printed on the call letter/application form.
If there is a mismatch, the candidate may not be allowed to appear for the examination.
Candidates who have legally changed their name should follow the NICL instructions regarding supporting documents such as the original Gazette notification, marriage certificate or affidavit, as applicable.

The exact NICL Assistant reporting time is printed on the individual candidate’s admit card.
NICL clearly states that candidates reporting after the reporting time specified on the call letter will not be permitted to take the examination.
The reporting time is earlier than the actual examination start time because document verification, identity checks, login formalities and other examination procedures have to be completed before the test.
