The following 36 State/UT entries reproduce the Preliminary examination column of Annexure II. The numbers in brackets are the notification’s State codes, not individual venue codes. Do not limit Mains centre planning to a short list of major capitals. Annexure II includes a complete Main examination column, reproduced below. For example, Bihar has seven listed Mains cities, and Ladakh lists both Leh and Kargil. Your Mains venue can differ from your Prelims venue.

How to Choose IBPS Clerk Exam Centre 2026

Practical planning advice: The most suitable choice is a permitted city you can reach reliably, not necessarily the shortest straight-line distance. Compare transport frequency, the last part of the journey, accommodation needs and your own accessibility requirements. This is travel guidance, not an IBPS ranking of centres.

1. Open the correct CRP CSA application through the official IBPS website and read its instructions.
2. Confirm the State/UT for whose vacancies you are applying.
3. Check the Preliminary and Main examination city fields separately.
4. Compare the actual available options with the appropriate stage in Annexure II.
5. Choose the permitted city or cities that best fit your travel arrangements; complete every required field.
6. If the form offers more than one preference, order only those options actually provided. Do not assume that three choices are mandatory.
7. Preview the State/UT and both examination-stage entries before completing registration.
8. Save the final application and use the relevant call letter to confirm the eventual venue.

A city with dependable transport may be more practical than a slightly nearer city with an uncertain connection. Treat map distances as planning information; they cannot determine which laboratory IBPS will allot.

IBPS Clerk Exam Centre Preference 2026: How Many Cities Can You Select?

Do not assume a fixed number of preferences. Annexure II lists examination locations; it does not establish a universal rule that every applicant must choose a first, second and third city. Enter the number of choices required by the relevant application interface for each stage.

Similarly, a slash in a notification entry does not prove that the named locations are separate dropdown options. A State code identifies the annexure row; it is not the address or code of a particular examination building.

Can IBPS Clerk Exam Centre 2026 Be Changed After Submission?

Clause I(ii) states that requests to change the examination centre are not entertained. Do not rely on an email, agent, personal inconvenience or payment of a correction fee to obtain a different venue. Review the city fields before completing the application.

A general application-correction facility is not, by itself, evidence that centre changes are permitted. IBPS Clerk Exam Centre Allotment 2026: How the Final City Is Decided

The city entered in the application is a preference, not a reservation of a seat at a particular venue. Clause I permits IBPS to allot a centre other than the one selected, including a location outside the State/UT for whose vacancies the candidate applied. Do not assume that any alternative must be nearby.

The notification does not publish an applicant-level formula that guarantees an allotment based on early registration, distance from home or a particular preference number. Use the allotted venue rather than trying to predict the test centre from those factors.

How to Check Your Allotted Centre and Venue

1. Use the call-letter download link for the correct CRP CSA examination stage on the official IBPS website when the facility is provided.
2. Enter the login details required on that screen. Clause Q describes call-letter access using the registration number and password/date of birth.
3. Check your name, examination stage, centre, full venue address, date and reporting instructions.
4. Save and print the call letter. Check the Main examination call letter separately instead of reusing the Prelims address.

Can IBPS Change or Cancel an IBPS Clerk Exam Centre 2026?

Yes. IBPS reserves the right to cancel listed examination centres or add others, considering response and administrative feasibility. A city’s appearance in Annexure II therefore does not make it a permanently assured examination location.

Follow your call letter and any subsequent official communication about the examination. Candidates bear their own examination-related travel expenses and risks under Clause I(v). A private travel booking does not override an IBPS centre allocation.

IBPS Clerk Exam Centre 2026: Travel and Reporting Checklist

Plan likely routes when choosing a city, but distinguish that early research from a confirmed booking to the final venue. Once the call letter provides the address, check the journey all the way to the examination building.

Reporting time is not the test start time. The notification says candidates arriving after the call-letter reporting time will not be permitted to take the examination. Do not assume there is a grace period until the test begins.

The notification also allows for time spent on formalities: about two hours or more at the venue for Prelims, and about three hours or more for Mains. These are overall venue-time indications, not a requirement to arrive two or three hours before reporting. Let the call letter govern your arrival.

Documents Required at IBPS Clerk Exam Centre 2026

Use the stage-specific call letter and information handout as your packing checklist. The notification requires a valid call letter, the specified original photo ID and its photocopy, as well as the prescribed photographs and any applicable additional documents.

Accepted and Non-Accepted Identity Documents

Examples of accepted photo IDs in Clause L include PAN card, passport, permanent driving licence, voter’s card with a photograph, Aadhaar/E-Aadhaar with a photograph and a bank passbook with a photograph. The name must match the application/call letter. For a documented name change, the notification specifies the original Gazette notification, original marriage certificate or an affidavit in original, as applicable. Prohibited Items and Personal Belongings

Do not bring mobile phones, calculators, Bluetooth devices, earphones, wristwatches, cameras or storage devices into the examination centre. Section O contains the complete restrictions. 1. Using an Old or Different Examination’s City List

Match the recruitment cycle and examination stage. A PO, SBI or earlier Clerk list is not a substitute for the CRP CSA-XVI annexure.

An IBPS allocation outside the applied State/UT does not move your candidature to that location’s vacancies.

3. Treating a Preferred City as Guaranteed

Your choice does not guarantee the centre, laboratory or a nearby alternative.

Use the fields actually provided and the published rules; do not invent additional choices or rely on later correction.

The earlier reporting time matters. Reaching before the test begins does not cure late reporting.

Keep the authenticated Prelims call letter and ID photocopy safely for Mains; a fresh unverified printout is not the stamped original.
