The tables show what each file contains, including whether it covers a full Prelims paper, a single subject or selected Mains sections.
Ex-servicemen prepare for the common IBPS Clerk / Customer Service Associate (CSA) examination. There is no separate ESM question paper. Category-related eligibility and reservation provisions do not create a different set of exam subjects.

IBPS Clerk Previous Year Papers: Free PDF Downloads
This collection contains 24 PDF files from 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2023, 2024 and 2025. These are not 24 different exam shifts: some files are language versions, subject files or alternate answer editions of the same paper. For 2022 Prelims/Mains and 2023 Mains, three additional PDFs hosted on ExamTune are linked in the additional papers section.
About these resources: The PDFs are memory-based practice compilations, not official question papers or answer keys issued by IBPS. Original source credits appear within the files. “Answers” means the supplied answer options; “worked solutions” means explanatory working is included. Memory-based questions and supplied keys can contain errors, so review doubtful items before using them to judge your score.
How to download: Select a PDF link, then use your browser’s download icon or Save option. Keep the year, stage, shift and edition in the saved filename so you can find the matching answers later.

*Language note: In Hindi editions, the English Language section remains in English. The Hindi label does not mean that every section is translated into Hindi.
Answer-key notes: In the 4 October Shift 1 Hindi file, Q14 and Q75–77 are marked for review rather than given settled answers. Leave these four questions out of your practice-score calculation until resolved; do not report the resulting score as a complete 100-question result. The two 5 October Shift 1 Hindi editions use different question numbering. Match answers only to the edition you attempted.
IBPS Clerk Prelims Papers: 2018–2024
Use the complete Prelims compilations for sectional timing practice. The three 2018 downloads are separate subject files, useful when you want to work on one area without attempting a whole paper.

2018 numbering note: These subject files retain their source numbering. Some solution pages include neighbouring answers from another section; follow the question range shown in the table. In the English file, the source labels question 95 as S95.
IBPS Clerk Mains Previous Year Papers
Check the coverage column carefully. The 2019, 2021 and 2025 Mains compilations do not include General/Financial Awareness. They are useful practice resources for the included subjects, but cannot be treated as complete Mains mocks.
| Paper / edition | Language | Coverage and answer format | PDF download |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2025 · 29 November · Shift 1 | English | 115 questions across Reasoning, Quant and English, with worked solutions. General/Financial Awareness excluded. | 2025 Mains English PDF 56 pages |
| 2025 · 29 November · Shift 1 | Hindi* | 115 questions across Reasoning, Quant and English, with worked solutions. General/Financial Awareness excluded. | 2025 Mains Hindi PDF 57 pages |
| 2024 · 13 October | English | 190-question compilation covering all four Mains sections, with supplied solutions. Historical pattern. | 2024 Mains English PDF 87 pages |
| 2024 · 13 October | Hindi* | 190-question compilation covering all four Mains sections, with supplied solutions. Historical pattern. | 2024 Mains Hindi PDF 98 pages |
| 2021 Mains | English | 140 questions across English, Reasoning and Quant, with supplied solutions. General/Financial Awareness excluded. | 2021 Mains English PDF 58 pages |
| 2019 Mains | English | 140 questions across Reasoning, Quant and English, with supplied solutions. General/Financial Awareness excluded. | 2019 Mains English PDF 27 pages |
Historical questions need historical context: The 2024 files include General/Financial Awareness, but the answers relate to that paper’s period. Use them to understand the style of questions, and prepare current affairs separately for your own examination. The 190-question structure in those files is not the CSA-XVI Mains pattern.
Additional IBPS Clerk Papers: 2022 and 2023
These three English-medium resources contain Adda247/BankersAdda material and are hosted on ExamTune. They are additional to the 24 files listed above, bringing the linked collection to 27 PDFs. Original publisher credits remain within the files. They are memory-based practice resources, not official IBPS papers.
| Paper | Coverage | PDF download |
|---|---|---|
| 2022 Prelims | 100 questions covering English, Quant and Reasoning, with supplied worked solutions. | ExamTune-IBPS-Clerk-2022-Prelims 35 pages |
| 2022 Mains | 140 questions covering English, Reasoning and Quant, with supplied worked solutions. General/Financial Awareness excluded. | ExamTune-IBPS-Clerk-2022-Mains 65 pages |
| 2023 Mains | 140 questions covering English, Reasoning and Quant, with supplied worked solutions. General/Financial Awareness excluded. | ExamTune-IBPS-Clerk-2023-Mains 78 pages |
For older practice material, the CareerPower paper archive lists 2015–2018 papers, including subject-wise Mains resources. BankersAdda’s archive also lists additional 2022 Prelims practice sets and a 2020 Mains resource. These are archive links; check each file’s stage, coverage and answer format before attempting it.
Which Previous Year Paper Should You Start With?
- For a first timed Prelims attempt: Choose a paper you have not seen, with questions separated from the solutions. The 2024 Prelims file or the 5 October 2025 Hindi questions edition can be used this way. Keep the answer pages closed until you finish.
- For learning a method: Choose a file labelled “supplied solutions” or “worked solutions.” An answer letter alone will not explain why your approach failed.
- For quick revision: The 2025 files with inline answers let you check individual questions immediately. Hide the answers if you want an independent attempt.
- For a weak subject: Start with the relevant 2018 section, review your mistakes, then move to a three-section Prelims paper.
- For Mains: Practise the available subject sets, add General/Financial Awareness preparation, and use a separate mock that follows your recruitment cycle’s pattern.
IBPS Clerk / CSA Exam Pattern: How to Use Older Papers
The CRP CSA-XVI examination structure is the reference below. Older paper compilations may have different question counts or incomplete subject coverage. Follow the notification and examination handout for your own recruitment cycle when setting a full mock.
Prelims: Section-wise Questions, Marks and Timing
| Section | Questions | Marks | Time |
|---|---|---|---|
| English Language | 30 | 30 | 20 minutes |
| Numerical Ability | 35 | 35 | 20 minutes |
| Reasoning Ability | 35 | 35 | 20 minutes |
| Total | 100 | 100 | 60 minutes |
Mains: Section-wise Questions, Marks and Timing
| Section | Questions | Marks | Time |
|---|---|---|---|
| General/Financial Awareness | 40 | 50 | 20 minutes |
| General English | 40 | 40 | 35 minutes |
| Reasoning Ability | 40 | 60 | 35 minutes |
| Quantitative Aptitude | 40 | 50 | 35 minutes |
| Total | 160 | 200 | 125 minutes |
Each section is separately timed. Do not transfer unused time between sections in a practice simulation. CSA-XVI lists four Mains tests, with no separate Computer Aptitude test. Use older papers for their questions; do not copy their historical structure into a current-pattern mock.
Negative marking: A wrong answer attracts a penalty of one-fourth of the marks assigned to that question. An unanswered question carries no penalty. For a one-mark Prelims question, the deduction is 0.25 mark; do not assume that every Mains question has the same mark value.
Pattern source: See the Structure of Examination and Penalty for Wrong Answers sections of the CRP CSA-XVI notification copy hosted by ExamTune. Check the official IBPS website for notices and examination handouts.
Subject-wise Practice Checklist for Previous Year Papers
Use this checklist to decide what to review after a paper. It is a practice guide, not a prediction of topic-wise question counts. Topics and their distribution can differ between shifts.
| Subject | Prelims practice | Mains practice |
|---|---|---|
| Numerical Ability / Quantitative Aptitude | Simplification, number series, arithmetic and basic data interpretation. Track calculation mistakes separately from concept errors. | Work through longer DI and arithmetic sets. Write the required comparison first, then calculate only the values needed. |
| Reasoning Ability | Puzzles, seating arrangements, inequalities, series and relationship-based questions. Check every condition before selecting an option. | Practise combining multiple conditions. Build a clear arrangement or deduction table and review where an assumption became invalid. |
| English Language / General English | Passage comprehension, grammar, cloze tests and sentence ordering. Explain why the selected option fits. | Review longer passages and context-based vocabulary or sentence questions. Check meaning as well as grammar. |
| General/Financial Awareness | Not a separate Prelims test. | Study banking/financial awareness and current affairs separately. Many Mains downloads above omit this section; their completion does not finish your Mains preparation. |
Track your own topic pattern: For every attempted paper, note its exact year and shift, the topic, how many questions you attempted and how many were correct. Use those records to find recurring weaknesses. Do not treat a question count from one shift as a fixed allocation for every exam.
Find These Topics in the 2024 Prelims PDF
Open the 24 August 2024, Shift 1 English PDF from the download table. These examples show where to practise specific skills. Page numbers below refer to the PDF viewer, including the cover.
| Skill | Question / PDF pages | Practice action |
|---|---|---|
| Ordering puzzle | Q1–5; pages 2–3 | Turn the clues into positions, then check every placement. |
| Inequalities | Q6–10; pages 3–4 | Trace the comparison chain and test each conclusion separately. |
| Reading comprehension | Q36–44; pages 9–11 | Find passage evidence before choosing an answer. |
| Line-graph DI | Q66–70; pages 15–16 | Read the restaurant-order values, then set up the average, percentage or ratio required. |
| Missing-number series | Q78–82; page 18 | Test differences, multipliers and alternating rules across the terms. |
How Ex-Servicemen Can Use These Papers Effectively
If you are returning to competitive-exam preparation after a study gap, start by finding the skills that need revision. Your first paper is a diagnostic exercise: record where you lost time and which concepts you could not recall.
- Attempt before reading the key. Write your answers on a separate sheet. For a full Prelims simulation, use the sectional time limits; for a sectional file, time only that subject.
- Record attempts and accuracy separately. Note correct, incorrect and unattempted questions. Calculate accuracy as correct answers divided by attempted questions, multiplied by 100. A high attempt count with many errors is a signal to improve question selection.
- Use the matching answer edition. Check the same PDF you attempted. Where a question or key is flagged as unresolved, record it separately instead of treating it as a confirmed mistake.
- Keep a short error log. For each error, note the topic and cause: missing concept, calculation error, misread instruction or poor time choice. Revise the cause before taking another paper.
- Reattempt without looking at the explanation. Return to difficult questions after a gap. If you can solve them independently and explain the method, move to an unfamiliar paper.
- Add screen-based practice. PDFs help with questions and revision; an online mock also lets you practise navigation and time management in a computer-based format.
For example, if arithmetic questions are accurate but slow, revise the relevant calculation methods and attempt a short timed set. If puzzles consume most of your Reasoning time, practise recognising a workable starting point and deciding when to move on. Use your own paper results to set the next study session.
How to Calculate Your Prelims Practice Score
For a complete set of one-mark questions with a settled answer key, use raw practice score = correct answers − (0.25 × wrong answers). For example, 70 correct, 10 wrong and 20 unattempted questions give 67.5 out of 100; accuracy is 70 ÷ 80 × 100 = 87.5%. This is a practice calculation, not an official normalised score or a selection prediction.
Do Questions Repeat in IBPS Clerk?
Prepare to recognise a method, not to recall an answer letter. A familiar puzzle format or arithmetic concept can appear with different conditions and numbers. Solve each new question from its own data; previous papers do not establish which exact questions will appear in a future shift.
How Many Papers Should You Practise?
As a practical starting point, choose one unseen Prelims paper for diagnosis, revise its weak topics, then attempt another paper to measure the change. Expand to recent shifts and Mains subject sets as your preparation improves. There is no universal paper count that guarantees readiness; leave enough time to analyse every attempt and revise.

Frequently Asked Questions
Where can I download IBPS Clerk Ex-Servicemen Previous Year Papers?
Use the download tables on this page to choose a paper by year, exam stage, shift and language. Each entry links to the relevant PDF and identifies whether it contains solutions, option answers or a separate answer key.
Is there a separate IBPS Clerk question paper for ex-servicemen?
No. Ex-servicemen take the same IBPS Clerk/CSA examination as other candidates. ESM eligibility and reservation provisions do not create a separate question paper.
Are these official IBPS question papers?
These resources are memory-based practice compilations, not official question papers released by IBPS. Consult the official IBPS website for recruitment notifications and examination rules. Source credits provided inside the PDFs should be retained.
Which years are covered in the PDF collection?
The collection includes selected resources from 2018 to 2025. Availability varies by year, stage, shift and language. Some files are individual sections or alternative language editions, so the number of PDF links does not represent the number of different examinations.
Are the papers available in Hindi and English?
Selected papers are available in English, Hindi or bilingual editions. Check the language column before downloading. A Hindi question paper may still contain English explanations, and the English Language section remains in English.
Does every PDF include detailed solutions?
No. Some PDFs contain worked solutions, while others provide option answers, inline answers or a separate answer key. Check the description beside each download. An answer-only file should not be treated as a detailed solution guide.
Are all the IBPS Clerk Mains PDFs complete papers?
No. Several Mains compilations omit General or Financial Awareness and are useful only for the sections they contain. The download tables identify these limitations. Check section coverage before using a file as a full-length mock test.
Do older question papers follow the current IBPS Clerk exam pattern?
Not always. Older papers may have different question counts, section timings or marks. Use them for question practice and consult the notification for your recruitment cycle before attempting a timed mock test.
How should ex-servicemen use previous year papers for preparation?
Attempt a paper without viewing the answers, review mistakes and record topics that need revision. Practise those topics before attempting another paper. Combine previous papers with current-pattern mocks and current affairs preparation; papers alone do not cover every requirement.
Can I use the same answer key for both 5 October 2025 Shift 1 Hindi editions?
No. The two editions use different question numbering. Use the answers printed inside the inline-answer edition for that file. Use the separate answer key only with its matching questions edition.
