Does an Ex-Serviceman Have to Pass the Local Language Test?

Ex-Servicemen candidates should not assume that ESM status by itself provides exemption from the Local Language Proficiency Test (LLPT).

The official rule is based on evidence of studying the selected local language. Candidates who produce a 10th standard or above mark sheet/certificate showing that they studied the specified/opted local language are not required to undergo the language test.
