SBI PO Shift 3 English Language Analysis

The 40-question English Language section was easy to moderate. Reading Comprehension carried the highest weightage, while the remaining questions tested grammar, contextual vocabulary and sentence arrangement. Reading Comprehension contained 10 questions. Candidates also reported a six-question Cloze Test, five Para Jumble questions and four Word Swap questions. Error Spotting, Correct Statement, Sentence Rearrangement, Word Usage and Double Fillers completed the section.
English Language Topic Questions Asked
Reading Comprehension 10
Cloze Test 6
Para Jumbles 5
Word Swap 4
Correct Statement 3
Error Spotting 3
Sentence Rearrangement 3
Word Usage 3
Double Fillers 3
Total 40
Vocabulary questions were contextual, so candidates needed to understand sentence tone and logical flow. A practical strategy was to complete direct grammar and vocabulary questions before moving to lengthy Reading Comprehension questions.

SBI PO Shift 3 Quantitative Aptitude Analysis

Quantitative Aptitude was the most time-consuming section of Shift 3 and was rated moderate. Fifteen out of 30 questions came from Data Interpretation. The reported sets included a Double Pie Chart based on male and female data, a Table DI involving cars and scooters, and a Caselet DI based on steel and plastic bottles. Arithmetic contributed 12 questions, while three questions came from Missing Number Series.
Quantitative Aptitude Topic Questions Asked
Double Pie Chart DI 5
Table Data Interpretation 5
Caselet Data Interpretation 5
Missing Number Series 3
Arithmetic Word Problems 12
Total 30
A useful attempt order was Missing Number Series, the simplest DI set and then familiar arithmetic questions. Spending too long on one calculation-heavy question could sharply reduce attempts within the fixed 20-minute sectional limit. According to the SBI PO Shift 3 Exam Analysis 2026, candidates with strong calculation speed and regular Data Interpretation practice had an advantage in this section.

SBI PO Shift 3 Reasoning Ability Analysis

Reasoning Ability was easy to moderate but strongly puzzle-oriented. Twenty-five of the 30 questions came from five sets of puzzles and seating arrangements. The reported sets included a linear seating arrangement with eight persons facing north and south, a circular seating arrangement with nine persons facing inside, and a floor-and-flat puzzle involving ten persons. A box-and-stack puzzle and a day-based puzzle were also reported.
Reasoning Ability Topic Questions Asked
Linear Seating Arrangement 5
Circular Seating Arrangement 5
Floor and Flat-Based Puzzle 5
Box and Stack-Based Puzzle 5
Day-Based Puzzle 5
Inequality 3
Meaningful Word and Word Pair 2
Total 30
The quickest marks were available in Inequality and miscellaneous questions. Candidates could then attempt the clearest puzzle and leave any set that failed to form quickly.

SBI PO Shift 3 Expected Cut-Off 2026

SBI does not release a separate cut-off for every examination shift. Candidates should therefore not treat the Shift 3 good-attempt range as a fixed qualifying score. The official SBI PO Prelims cut-off will be released category-wise after considering candidate performance, vacancies and normalization. Prelims marks are not added to the final merit list, but candidates require a strong aggregate score to qualify for the Main Examination. The SBI PO Shift 3 Exam Analysis 2026 should be used to assess performance after considering total attempts, expected accuracy and the effect of negative marking.

Preparation Lessons from SBI PO Shift 3

Shift 3 highlighted the importance of balanced preparation. With 40 English Language questions, reading speed and contextual vocabulary deserve regular attention through Reading Comprehension, Cloze Test and sentence-based practice. For Quantitative Aptitude, candidates should practise complete Data Interpretation sets under a timer and strengthen arithmetic concepts. Reasoning practice should cover linear, circular, floor-flat, box, day and variable-based puzzles. A useful examination strategy is to secure direct questions first, select only workable puzzle or DI sets and avoid random guesses. Since every section has a fixed 20-minute duration, candidates must practise sectional tests and learn to make quick decisions. Overall, the SBI PO Shift 3 Exam Analysis 2026 highlights that accuracy, speed and intelligent question selection are essential for scoring well in the SBI PO Preliminary Examination.
