IBPS RRB Clerk Age Limit 2026

The IBPS RRB Clerk Age Limit for Office Assistant (Multipurpose) is calculated as on 1 September 2026. Under the normal age criteria, candidates must be between 18 and 28 years.

Accordingly, a candidate who is not claiming any upper-age relaxation should have been born not earlier than 2 September 1998 and not later than 1 September 2008. Both dates are inclusive.

Important: The normal maximum age of 28 years applies to General and EWS candidates. EWS candidates receive reservation benefits subject to the applicable rules but do not receive a separate relaxation in the upper age limit merely on the basis of EWS status.

IBPS RRB Clerk Age Relaxation

Eligible candidates belonging to specified categories can claim IBPS RRB Clerk Age Relaxation in the upper age limit. The relaxation applicable to Office Assistant (Multipurpose) is given below.

Are Final-Year Graduation Students Eligible?

A candidate studying in the final year of graduation can satisfy the IBPS RRB Office Assistant Qualification only if the final result is officially declared on or before 21 September 2026. Merely appearing in the final-year or final-semester examination is not sufficient if the qualifying result is declared after the prescribed cut-off date.

IBPS RRB Clerk CGPA and OGPA Conversion Rules

Candidates should indicate their graduation percentage in the online application up to the required decimal precision. Where a University or Institute awards CGPA or OGPA, it must be converted into percentage according to the conversion criteria adopted by the respective University or Institute.

The candidate should be able to produce documentary proof issued by the appropriate authority showing the University’s or Institute’s prescribed norms for converting CGPA or OGPA into percentage and the corresponding percentage obtained by the candidate, whenever required during verification.

Where percentage marks are calculated directly, the percentage is generally derived by dividing the total marks obtained in all subjects across all semesters or years by the aggregate maximum marks and multiplying the result by 100, subject to the applicable University and IBPS rules.

IBPS RRB Clerk Local Language Requirement

Proficiency in the local language prescribed by the participating Regional Rural Bank is an essential part of IBPS RRB Office Assistant Eligibility.

A candidate who has studied the prescribed language of the State in Standard VIII or at any level above Standard VIII in a Government-recognised Board of Education or school, or possesses an appropriate certificate showing such study, is considered proficient in that local language under the prescribed conditions.

If a selected candidate does not satisfy the prescribed local-language proficiency requirement at the time of selection, the candidate is generally allowed six months from the date of joining to acquire the required proficiency.

Is Computer Knowledge Mandatory for IBPS RRB Clerk?

Is Work Experience Required for IBPS RRB Clerk?
