The last date to apply online for IBPS Clerk 2026 has been extended to
28 August 2026. Candidates can also edit their application and
pay the application fee up to 28 August 2026. The last date to print the

IBPS Clerk Notification 2026 has been released by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) for the recruitment of Customer Service Associates (CSA) under CRP CSA-XVI. A total of 11,403 vacancies are available in participating Public Sector Banks.

The online application process started on 1 August 2026, and candidates can now submit their form up to 28 August 2026. The IBPS Clerk Prelims exam will be held on 10 and 11 October 2026, while the Mains exam is scheduled for 27 December 2026.

IBPS has released the IBPS Clerk Notification 2026 for Customer Service Associate posts. The recruitment is being conducted under CRP CSA-XVI for 11 participating Public Sector Banks.

Candidates who have a graduation degree and meet the required age limit can apply online. Before filling out the form, candidates should check the eligibility rules, vacancy details, local language requirement and other important conditions.

IBPS Clerk 2026 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must meet the eligibility rules given by IBPS. The main requirements are nationality, age, graduation, computer knowledge and local language.

Nationality

A candidate must be one of the following:

  • A citizen of India; or
  • A subject of Nepal; or
  • A subject of Bhutan; or
  • A Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1 January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India; or
  • A Person of Indian Origin who migrated from the countries listed in the official notification with the intention of permanently settling in India.

IBPS Clerk Age Limit 2026

The candidate should be between 20 and 28 years as on 1 August 2026.

For the basic age limit, candidates should have been born not earlier than 2 August 1998 and not later than 1 August 2006.

IBPS Clerk Educational Qualification

Candidates must have a graduation degree from a recognised university or an equivalent qualification recognised by the Central Government.

Important: The original notification used 21 August 2026 as the eligibility date for educational qualification. The application deadline has been extended to 28 August 2026, but candidates should not assume that the eligibility cut-off has also changed unless IBPS issues a separate notice.

Computer Literacy

Candidates must have basic computer knowledge. Computer knowledge can be shown through a certificate, diploma, degree, or by having studied Computer or Information Technology as a subject in school or college.

Eligible Ex-Servicemen who do not have the normal qualification should check the special education and service conditions given in the official notification, including the Army Special Certificate of Education or equivalent certificate.

Local Language Requirement

Candidates should know the local language of the State or Union Territory for which they apply. They should be able to read, write, speak and understand the required language.

IBPS Clerk 2026 Selection Process

The IBPS Clerk selection process mainly includes the Prelims and Mains examinations. There is no interview for the Customer Service Associate post.

Stage Details
Stage 1: Preliminary Exam Prelims is the first qualifying stage. Candidates who clear the required cut-off are shortlisted for Mains.
Stage 2: Mains Exam Mains is the main stage for final merit. The final merit is prepared mainly using marks scored in the Mains exam.

Local Language Proficiency Test (Qualifying)

Candidates shortlisted after the Mains exam may have to appear for a Local Language Proficiency Test. The test checks whether the candidate can read, write, speak and understand the required local language.

Candidates who have studied the required local language in the prescribed school classes may get exemption, subject to IBPS rules and document verification.

Is There Sectional Cut Off in IBPS Clerk?

Yes. Candidates have to meet the required qualifying standard in the sections as prescribed by IBPS. Candidates should not focus only on the total score.

IBPS Clerk Negative Marking

For every wrong answer in the objective exam, one-fourth or 0.25 of the marks assigned to that question is deducted. There is no penalty for an unanswered question.
