SSC CHSL 2025 Eligibility Criteria

There are three key SSC 10+2 eligibility criteria that candidates must meet to qualify for the SSC CHSL 2025 exam. These criteria are outlined below:

Nationality

(a) An individual who is a citizen of India, or

(b) A subject of Nepal or Bhutan, or

(c) A Tibetan refugee who arrived in India before January 1, 1962, with the intention of permanently settling, or

(d) A person of Indian descent who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, or East African nations such as Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly known as Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam to establish permanent residency in India.

Age Limit 

The age limit for SSC CHSL positions is set between 18 and 27 years. Candidates must be born on or after August 2, 1998, and on or before August 1, 2007, to be eligible to apply. 

Educational Qualification

  • For the positions of LDC/JSA and DEO/DEO Grade ‘A’ (excluding DEOs in Departments/Ministries), candidates intending to take the CHSL 2025 exam must have completed the 12th Standard or an equivalent examination from a recognized Board or University.
  • For the Data Entry Operator (DEO)/DEO Grade ‘A’ roles in the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, and the Ministry of Culture, candidates must have passed the 12th Standard in the Science stream, with Mathematics as a subject, from a recognized Board or equivalent.

SSC CHSL 2025 Exam Pattern

  • The SSC CHSL 2025 Tier 1 exam will be conducted in an online format.
  • A new descriptive paper will be introduced, carrying 100 marks and to be completed in 60 minutes using pen and paper.
  • The time limit for the Tier 1 examination has been reduced from 75 minutes to 60 minutes.
  • Tier II will include Objective multiple-choice questions, along with a Skill Test and Typing Test, all conducted online.
  • The Tier 1 exam consists of four sections, with a total of 100 questions accounting for 200 marks.
